Wall Hanging – Being Belonging Becoming
Recycled cotton fabric is appliqued on to this wall hanging.
This type of textile art is called Kuchi. It is made with recycled fabrics from clothing, bedspreads and cushions etc. The letters are cut out in patchwork and then the edges are outlined with clumps of cotton yarn that is stitched on by hand. Each one will be unique. The bottom has tassels held with a bead. Around the border of the toran is decorative embroidery design. There is 5 tabs across the top to slide a stick or rope to hang it.
